Buying a car in Point O'Rocks

Looking to buy? CarmaCars rents cars instead, which makes a test week easy. We are not a lender and do not arrange loans. A monthly rental can bridge the time while you arrange one with your bank. If credit is the obstacle, a monthly rental is one way to have a car while you sort it out; renting is not a loan, so there is no credit check.

Try it for a week first

A rental lets you judge fuel use for yourself, on your own routes. Rent for a weekend to answer the big question: is this the right car? A few days with the car answers whether the seats, the space and the fuel use suit you.

A buyer's checklist

Ask whether the car has been in an accident and how it was repaired. Ask your insurer for a quote on the exact model before you commit. Look for rust under the doors and around the wheel arches. Check open recalls with Transport Canada or the maker, using the VIN.

Before your next car arrives

Need a car for a road trip before you buy? Rent one for the trip. Rent by the week while you compare, and stop the day your next car arrives. Need a car while a dealer prepares yours? Rent one by the week.

Before you plan
