Buying a car in Progress

Auto Loans in Progress: CarmaCars rents cars and does not sell them, but we can still be useful. We are not a lender and do not arrange loans. A monthly rental can bridge the time while you arrange one with your bank. If credit is the obstacle, a monthly rental is one way to have a car while you sort it out; renting is not a loan, so there is no credit check.

A test drive that lasts

A rental lets you judge fuel use for yourself, on your own routes. Try the car with the people who will ride in it most. A few days with the car answers whether the seats, the space and the fuel use suit you.

Checks worth doing

In Ontario, a private seller must give the buyer a Used Vehicle Information Package. Make sure every warning light goes out after the car starts. Look for rust under the doors and around the wheel arches. Look at real fuel use for the model, not only the advertised figure.

A car meanwhile

Use a rental to try a different kind of car before you commit to one. Weekly and monthly rates make a rental a sensible bridge between cars. A rental can carry you through the paperwork of a private sale.

Our area

You will not find a CarmaCars location in Progress; we work from Toronto. About 651 km separate our location in Toronto and Progress, far past our 250 km delivery area.

If you are in the Toronto area before you shop, rent the model from us there. If you move to the Toronto area, renting the car you want to buy is easy. Tell us what you are planning in Progress, and we will say what we can and cannot do. Our prices are in Canadian dollars, with tax added in the offer.

Over to you

Ask about renting first, and buy with a clear head.
