Buying a car in Rubyville

CarmaCars rents cars in the Toronto area. We are not a dealership, and we do not arrange loans or leases. If credit is the obstacle, a monthly rental is one way to have a car while you sort it out; renting is not a loan, so there is no credit check. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out.

Try it for a week first

If we have the model in our fleet, its page shows the rates; if not, a similar car gives you a feel for the class. Renting the model first is a simple way to avoid buying the wrong car. Many buyers rent the car they are considering for a weekend before they visit a dealer.

What to check before you buy

A Safety Standards Certificate is needed in Ontario to register a used car you buy. Check open recalls with Transport Canada or the maker, using the VIN. Ask for a test drive on the highway as well as in town. Check the tires and brakes: replacing them adds to the real price.

Between cars

If the car you want is weeks away, rent one month at a time and stop when it arrives. Need a car while a dealer prepares yours? Rent one by the week. Rent by the week while you compare, and stop the day your next car arrives.

What CarmaCars covers

You will not find a CarmaCars location in Rubyville; we work from Toronto. Rubyville is about 613 km from central Toronto in a straight line, beyond the 80 km we deliver to.
