Shopping for a car in Shafter

CarmaCars does not sell cars. We rent them, which makes us a good place to try a model before you buy. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card. We are not a lender and do not arrange loans. A monthly rental can bridge the time while you arrange one with your bank.

Try it for a week first

A week of normal life with the car is the best test drive there is. If we have the model in our fleet, its page shows the rates; if not, a similar car gives you a feel for the class. If you are torn between two models, rent one, then the other.

Before you sign

Check open recalls with Transport Canada or the maker, using the VIN. Find out whether the car has open recalls before you agree on a price. A Safety Standards Certificate is needed in Ontario to register a used car you buy. Check the tires and brakes: replacing them adds to the real price.

Bridging the gap

If the car you want is weeks away, rent one month at a time and stop when it arrives. A rental means you never have to rush a purchase because you need wheels. Rent by the week while you compare, and stop the day your next car arrives.

Our reach

CarmaCars operates from a single location in Toronto, so Shafter is outside our area. The distance is about 1,232 km in a straight line, more than our delivery area of 250 km.

Our rentals start and end around Toronto; a test week has to begin there. If you move to the Toronto area, renting the car you want to buy is easy. Questions about Shafter? Send a request and a person answers honestly. Rates are shown in Canadian dollars.
