Shopping for a car in Shelldrake

CarmaCars rents cars and does not sell, lend or lease, but renting first is a smart step before buying. We are not a lender and do not arrange loans. A monthly rental can bridge the time while you arrange one with your bank. If credit is the obstacle, a monthly rental is one way to have a car while you sort it out; renting is not a loan, so there is no credit check.

Drive it like you own it

A week of your own driving tells you more than twenty minutes with a salesperson: the commute, the parking, the fuel. A rental lets you judge fuel use for yourself, on your own routes. Renting the model first is a simple way to avoid buying the wrong car.

Checks worth doing

Make sure every warning light goes out after the car starts. Confirm the ownership and that no money is still owed on the car. Have a mechanic inspect a used car before you buy it, at a shop you choose. A Safety Standards Certificate is needed in Ontario to register a used car you buy.

Between cars

A rental keeps you driving if your old car sells sooner than planned. Need a car for a road trip before you buy? Rent one for the trip. There is no long contract, so a rental fits around any purchase date.
