Buying a car in Simpson

CarmaCars rents cars and does not sell, lend or lease, but renting first is a smart step before buying. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card. We are not a lender and do not arrange loans. A monthly rental can bridge the time while you arrange one with your bank.

Drive it like you own it

Try the car on a highway drive, a grocery run and a tight parking spot before you sign. Try the car with the people who will ride in it most. Bring the car seat, the hockey bag or the dog, and see if it all fits.

What to check before you buy

Check the tires and brakes: replacing them adds to the real price. In Ontario, a private seller must give the buyer a Used Vehicle Information Package. Ask whether the car has been in an accident and how it was repaired. A Safety Standards Certificate is needed in Ontario to register a used car you buy.

A car meanwhile

You can switch to a different car at the end of a booking, which helps if you are comparing. Between selling and buying, a weekly rental keeps the commute normal. Need a car while a dealer prepares yours? Rent one by the week.
