Shopping for a car in Smith

CarmaCars rents cars in the Toronto area. We are not a dealership, and we do not arrange loans or leases. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card. We are not a lender and do not arrange loans. A monthly rental can bridge the time while you arrange one with your bank.

Why rent first

If we have the model in our fleet, its page shows the rates; if not, a similar car gives you a feel for the class. A week of your own driving tells you more than twenty minutes with a salesperson: the commute, the parking, the fuel. Renting the model you are thinking of buying, for a day or a week, is a real test drive on your own roads.

Checks worth doing

Measure your parking spot or garage before you fall for a bigger car. Make sure every warning light goes out after the car starts. Drive the car on the roads you use every day, at the times you usually drive. Check open recalls with Transport Canada or the maker, using the VIN.

Between cars

Need a car while a dealer prepares yours? Rent one by the week. Weekly and monthly rates make a rental a sensible bridge between cars. There is no long contract, so a rental fits around any purchase date.
