Buying a car in Smith

We are a rental company, not a dealer or a lender, and this page explains how renting can help a buyer. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card. We are not a lender and do not arrange loans. A monthly rental can bridge the time while you arrange one with your bank.

Why rent first

Bring the car seat, the hockey bag or the dog, and see if it all fits. Try the car with the people who will ride in it most. You can rent for a week, or up to 365 days, and nothing is charged until we confirm and you approve.

A buyer's checklist

Check the date on the tires and the condition of the brakes. Confirm the ownership and that no money is still owed on the car. Ask your insurer for a quote on the exact model before you commit. Make sure every warning light goes out after the car starts.

Between cars

If the car you want is weeks away, rent one month at a time and stop when it arrives. A rental can carry you through the paperwork of a private sale. Between selling and buying, a weekly rental keeps the commute normal.
