Buying a car in Squier

Looking to buy? CarmaCars rents cars instead, which makes a test week easy. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out.

Drive it like you own it

A week of your own driving tells you more than twenty minutes with a salesperson: the commute, the parking, the fuel. Take the car home, load it with your things, park it where you park, and then decide. Try the car on a highway drive, a grocery run and a tight parking spot before you sign.

Before you sign

Check open recalls with Transport Canada or the maker, using the VIN. Check the date on the tires and the condition of the brakes. Ask whether the car has been in an accident and how it was repaired. Ask how many owners the car has had and how it was used.

Between cars

Need a car for a road trip before you buy? Rent one for the trip. A rental keeps you driving if your old car sells sooner than planned. Rent the kind of car you plan to buy while you shop for it.
