Shopping for a car in Sutherland

There is nothing for sale here as a rule: CarmaCars rents cars. Here is how that helps when you shop. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out. If credit is the obstacle, a monthly rental is one way to have a car while you sort it out; renting is not a loan, so there is no credit check.

Rent it before you buy it

Rent for a weekend to answer the big question: is this the right car? A rental lets you judge fuel use for yourself, on your own routes. A week of your own driving tells you more than twenty minutes with a salesperson: the commute, the parking, the fuel.

Questions to ask

In Ontario, a private seller must give the buyer a Used Vehicle Information Package. Compare the total cost, not only the monthly payment: interest, fees and insurance add up. For a used car, ask for the vehicle's service records and look up its recall history by the VIN. Ask how many owners the car has had and how it was used.

A car meanwhile

Selling privately can take time; a rental means no rush. A monthly rental keeps life moving while your financing is sorted out elsewhere. Rent by the week while you compare, and stop the day your next car arrives.

Where CarmaCars works

You will not find a CarmaCars location in Sutherland; we work from Toronto. With Sutherland about 946 km from Toronto, it is outside the 250 km we cover.

Our rentals start and end around Toronto; a test week has to begin there. If you are in the Toronto area before you shop, rent the model from us there. We would rather tell you no than overpromise, so ask about Sutherland if you like. All prices are in Canadian dollars.
