Shopping for a car in Troy

CarmaCars does not sell cars, but before you buy one in Troy, a short rental can answer questions a test drive cannot. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out. We are not a lender and do not arrange loans. A monthly rental can bridge the time while you arrange one with your bank.

Drive it like you own it

If we have the model in our fleet, its page shows the rates; if not, a similar car gives you a feel for the class. Try the car with the people who will ride in it most. A week of your own driving tells you more than twenty minutes with a salesperson: the commute, the parking, the fuel.

A buyer's checklist

Confirm the ownership and that no money is still owed on the car. In Ontario, a private seller must give the buyer a Used Vehicle Information Package. A Safety Standards Certificate is needed in Ontario to register a used car you buy. Check open recalls with Transport Canada or the maker, using the VIN.

While you shop

A rental keeps you driving if your old car sells sooner than planned. Need a car while a dealer prepares yours? Rent one by the week. There is no long contract, so a rental fits around any purchase date.

Honest about distance

Everything CarmaCars does starts from Toronto, and we have no presence in Troy. Troy is about 1,396 km from our location, and our delivery area is about 80 km.

If you move to the Toronto area, renting the car you want to buy is easy. Shopping in Troy? A rental from Toronto only makes sense if your trip starts here. If you are unsure whether we can help with Troy, ask; we answer plainly. Prices on this site are in Canadian dollars.
