Buying a car in Unity

We are a rental company, not a dealer or a lender, and this page explains how renting can help a buyer. We are not a lender and do not arrange loans. A monthly rental can bridge the time while you arrange one with your bank. If credit is the obstacle, a monthly rental is one way to have a car while you sort it out; renting is not a loan, so there is no credit check.

Why rent first

A rental lets you judge fuel use for yourself, on your own routes. A week of your own driving tells you more than twenty minutes with a salesperson: the commute, the parking, the fuel. Renting the model you are thinking of buying, for a day or a week, is a real test drive on your own roads.

A buyer's checklist

Look for rust under the doors and around the wheel arches. Confirm the ownership and that no money is still owed on the car. Check open recalls with Transport Canada or the maker, using the VIN. Ask your insurer for a quote on the exact model before you commit.

While you shop

Between selling and buying, a weekly rental keeps the commute normal. There is no long contract, so a rental fits around any purchase date. Rent by the week while you compare, and stop the day your next car arrives.
