Shopping for a car in Wallace

Looking to buy? CarmaCars rents cars instead, which makes a test week easy. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out. If credit is the obstacle, a monthly rental is one way to have a car while you sort it out; renting is not a loan, so there is no credit check.

Why rent first

Renting first means you buy knowing the car, not guessing. Try the car with the people who will ride in it most. A week of your own driving tells you more than twenty minutes with a salesperson: the commute, the parking, the fuel.

A buyer's checklist

Check open recalls with Transport Canada or the maker, using the VIN. For a used car, ask for the vehicle's service records and look up its recall history by the VIN. Check the tires and brakes: replacing them adds to the real price. Measure your parking spot or garage before you fall for a bigger car.

Before your next car arrives

Use a rental to try a different kind of car before you commit to one. There is no long contract: each booking runs up to 365 days and can be renewed. If the purchase falls through, you still have a car to drive.

Where we work
