Shopping for a car in Austin

Shopping for a car in Austin? CarmaCars is not a dealer, a lender or a leasing company. We rent cars. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out.

Drive it like you own it

If we have the model in our fleet, its page shows the rates; if not, a similar car gives you a feel for the class. Renting the model you are thinking of buying, for a day or a week, is a real test drive on your own roads. Rent the model, take it on the roads you know, and decide with confidence.

A buyer's checklist

A Safety Standards Certificate is needed in Ontario to register a used car you buy. Check the tires and brakes: replacing them adds to the real price. Check open recalls with Transport Canada or the maker, using the VIN. Ask whether the car has been in an accident and how it was repaired.

Between cars

Rent by the week while you compare, and stop the day your next car arrives. A rental keeps you driving if your old car sells sooner than planned. Rent the kind of car you plan to buy while you shop for it.

Honest about Austin

Austin is not an area we serve directly. CarmaCars is based in Toronto. Our deliveries stop at about 250 km from Toronto; Austin is roughly 1,396 km away.

For buying in Austin, local dealers and private sellers are where to look. Our rentals start and end around Toronto; a test week has to begin there. Still have a question about Austin? Ask in a request, and we answer plainly. Prices here are in Canadian dollars, not US dollars.
