Shopping for a car in B

CarmaCars is a rental company. We do not sell, finance or lease cars, but we can help you try one before you do. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out.

A test drive that lasts

Many buyers rent the car they are considering for a weekend before they visit a dealer. Renting the model you are thinking of buying, for a day or a week, is a real test drive on your own roads. Take the car home, load it with your things, park it where you park, and then decide.

What to check before you buy

A Safety Standards Certificate is needed in Ontario to register a used car you buy. Look for rust under the doors and around the wheel arches. Ask for a test drive on the highway as well as in town. Ask whether the car has been in an accident and how it was repaired.

Bridging the gap

Rent the kind of car you plan to buy while you shop for it. Weekly and monthly rates make a rental a sensible bridge between cars. Waiting for a car on order? A monthly rental covers the wait, up to 365 days a booking.

A note on distance

There is no CarmaCars office, lot or branch in B. Our deliveries stop at about 250 km from Toronto; B is roughly 498 km away.

If you move to the Toronto area, renting the car you want to buy is easy. Our rentals start and end around Toronto; a test week has to begin there. Send a request with what you need in B, and we reply plainly, even when the answer is no. All prices are in Canadian dollars.
