Buying a car in Barnstable County
We are a rental company, not a dealer or a lender, and this page explains how renting can help a buyer. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card.
Rent it before you buy it
You can rent for a week, or up to 365 days, and nothing is charged until we confirm and you approve. Testing the car for a week shows how it handles your parking, your passengers and your bags. If we have the model in our fleet, its page shows the rates; if not, a similar car gives you a feel for the class.
Questions to ask
A Safety Standards Certificate is needed in Ontario to register a used car you buy. Look at real fuel use for the model, not only the advertised figure. Compare the total cost, not only the monthly payment: interest, fees and insurance add up. Ask how many owners the car has had and how it was used.
A car meanwhile
You can switch to a different car at the end of a booking, which helps if you are comparing. If the car you want is weeks away, rent one month at a time and stop when it arrives. Need a car for a road trip before you buy? Rent one for the trip.
Make a request
Send a request to rent the model you are thinking of buying.
