Buying a car in Beacon View

CarmaCars does not sell cars or arrange loans; we rent cars, which helps when you are deciding. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out. We are not a lender and do not arrange loans. A monthly rental can bridge the time while you arrange one with your bank.

A test drive that lasts

Renting the model you are thinking of buying, for a day or a week, is a real test drive on your own roads. Try the car with the people who will ride in it most. Bring the car seat, the hockey bag or the dog, and see if it all fits.

Checks worth doing

Check open recalls with Transport Canada or the maker, using the VIN. Look for rust under the doors and around the wheel arches. Check the tires and brakes: replacing them adds to the real price. Compare the total cost, not only the monthly payment: interest, fees and insurance add up.

While you shop

Rent the kind of car you plan to buy while you shop for it. If the purchase falls through, you still have a car to drive. You can switch to a different car at the end of a booking, which helps if you are comparing.
