Car Financing: what CarmaCars does
Looking to buy? CarmaCars rents cars instead, which makes a test week easy. We are not a lender and do not arrange loans. A monthly rental can bridge the time while you arrange one with your bank. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out.
Drive it like you own it
If you are torn between two models, rent one, then the other. Rent for a weekend to answer the big question: is this the right car? Bring the car seat, the hockey bag or the dog, and see if it all fits.
A buyer's checklist
In Ontario, a private seller must give the buyer a Used Vehicle Information Package. For a used car, ask for the vehicle's service records and look up its recall history by the VIN. Confirm the ownership and that no money is still owed on the car. Compare the total cost, not only the monthly payment: interest, fees and insurance add up.
Between cars
You can switch to a different car at the end of a booking, which helps if you are comparing. There is no long contract, so a rental fits around any purchase date. Sold your car already? Rent by the week while you shop for the next one.
