Buying a car in Calgary

Looking to buy? CarmaCars rents cars instead, which makes a test week easy. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out. If credit is the obstacle, a monthly rental is one way to have a car while you sort it out; renting is not a loan, so there is no credit check.

Try it for a week first

A rental lets you judge fuel use for yourself, on your own routes. Testing the car for a week shows how it handles your parking, your passengers and your bags. If we have the model in our fleet, its page shows the rates; if not, a similar car gives you a feel for the class.

Before you sign

Have a mechanic inspect a used car before you buy it, at a shop you choose. Ask for a test drive on the highway as well as in town. Check the date on the tires and the condition of the brakes. Look for rust under the doors and around the wheel arches.

While you shop

A rental keeps you driving if your old car sells sooner than planned. There is no long contract: each booking runs up to 365 days and can be renewed. There is no long contract, so a rental fits around any purchase date.

Renting from Toronto

We do not have a location in Calgary; CarmaCars works out of Toronto. The distance is about 2,714 km in a straight line, more than our delivery area of 250 km.

If you are in the Toronto area before you shop, rent the model from us there. If you move to the Toronto area, renting the car you want to buy is easy. We would rather tell you no than overpromise, so ask about Calgary if you like. All prices are in Canadian dollars.
