Buying a car in Derby

There is nothing for sale here as a rule: CarmaCars rents cars. Here is how that helps when you shop. If credit is the obstacle, a monthly rental is one way to have a car while you sort it out; renting is not a loan, so there is no credit check. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out.

Try it for a week first

A rental lets you judge fuel use for yourself, on your own routes. A week of normal life with the car is the best test drive there is. A week of your own driving tells you more than twenty minutes with a salesperson: the commute, the parking, the fuel.

Before you sign

Confirm the ownership and that no money is still owed on the car. Look at real fuel use for the model, not only the advertised figure. Ask for a test drive on the highway as well as in town. Drive the car on the roads you use every day, at the times you usually drive.

Before your next car arrives

A rental keeps you driving if your old car sells sooner than planned. Sold your car already? Rent by the week while you shop for the next one. You can switch to a different car at the end of a booking, which helps if you are comparing.
