Buying a car in Emerald

CarmaCars is a rental company, so we do not sell cars; renting one first is how we help buyers. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out.

Why rent first

Try the car with the people who will ride in it most. A week of your own driving tells you more than twenty minutes with a salesperson: the commute, the parking, the fuel. Try the car on a highway drive, a grocery run and a tight parking spot before you sign.

Questions to ask

Look for rust under the doors and around the wheel arches. Check the tires and brakes: replacing them adds to the real price. Ask for a test drive on the highway as well as in town. Check the date on the tires and the condition of the brakes.

While you shop

Between selling and buying, a weekly rental keeps the commute normal. There is no long contract: each booking runs up to 365 days and can be renewed. Rent by the week while you compare, and stop the day your next car arrives.

What CarmaCars covers

We are based in Toronto; Emerald is not somewhere we have a location. About 1,699 km separate central Toronto and Emerald, far past our 80 km delivery area.

If you are in the Toronto area before you shop, rent the model from us there. Our rentals start and end around Toronto; a test week has to begin there. If you want to check something for Emerald, send a request; a person replies honestly. Prices here are in Canadian dollars, not US dollars.
