Buying a car in Eugene

CarmaCars is a rental company. We do not sell, finance or lease cars, but we can help you try one before you do. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out. We are not a lender and do not arrange loans. A monthly rental can bridge the time while you arrange one with your bank.

Why rent first

Testing the car for a week shows how it handles your parking, your passengers and your bags. A week of your own driving tells you more than twenty minutes with a salesperson: the commute, the parking, the fuel. If we have the model in our fleet, its page shows the rates; if not, a similar car gives you a feel for the class.

Before you sign

Drive the car on the roads you use every day, at the times you usually drive. Compare the total cost, not only the monthly payment: interest, fees and insurance add up. Confirm the ownership and that no money is still owed on the car. Ask whether the car has been in an accident and how it was repaired.

While you shop

Use a rental to try a different kind of car before you commit to one. Weekly and monthly rates make a rental a sensible bridge between cars. Rent by the week while you compare, and stop the day your next car arrives.

Honest about Eugene

We are a Toronto company with no office or lot in Eugene. Eugene is about 2,914 km from our location in Toronto in a straight line, beyond the 250 km we deliver to.

For buying in Eugene, local dealers and private sellers are where to look. If you are in the Toronto area before you shop, rent the model from us there. We would rather tell you no than overpromise, so ask about Eugene if you like. Prices here are in Canadian dollars, not US dollars.
