Shopping for a car in Gander

CarmaCars does not sell cars or arrange loans; we rent cars, which helps when you are deciding. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card. We are not a lender and do not arrange loans. A monthly rental can bridge the time while you arrange one with your bank.

Why rent first

Try the car on a highway drive, a grocery run and a tight parking spot before you sign. A week of normal life with the car is the best test drive there is. Rent the model, take it on the roads you know, and decide with confidence.

Checks worth doing

Ask your insurer for a quote on the exact model before you commit. For a used car, ask for the vehicle's service records and look up its recall history by the VIN. In Ontario, a private seller must give the buyer a Used Vehicle Information Package. Find out whether the car has open recalls before you agree on a price.

Between cars

If the car you want is weeks away, rent one month at a time and stop when it arrives. Renting while you shop lets you compare cars without pressure. Selling privately can take time; a rental means no rush.
