Buying a car in Goldbug

Looking to buy? CarmaCars rents cars instead, which makes a test week easy. We are not a lender and do not arrange loans. A monthly rental can bridge the time while you arrange one with your bank. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card.

Rent it before you buy it

Renting the model you are thinking of buying, for a day or a week, is a real test drive on your own roads. Bring the car seat, the hockey bag or the dog, and see if it all fits. Take the car home, load it with your things, park it where you park, and then decide.

A buyer's checklist

For a used car, ask for the vehicle's service records and look up its recall history by the VIN. Make sure every warning light goes out after the car starts. Check the tires and brakes: replacing them adds to the real price. Measure your parking spot or garage before you fall for a bigger car.

A car meanwhile

Use a rental to try a different kind of car before you commit to one. Between selling and buying, a weekly rental keeps the commute normal. Sold your car already? Rent by the week while you shop for the next one.
