Shopping for a car in Greenock

Shopping for a car in Greenock? CarmaCars is not a dealer, a lender or a leasing company. We rent cars. If credit is the obstacle, a monthly rental is one way to have a car while you sort it out; renting is not a loan, so there is no credit check. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out.

A test drive that lasts

Testing the car for a week shows how it handles your parking, your passengers and your bags. A rental lets you judge fuel use for yourself, on your own routes. If you are torn between two models, rent one, then the other.

What to check before you buy

Check open recalls with Transport Canada or the maker, using the VIN. In Ontario, a private seller must give the buyer a Used Vehicle Information Package. Measure your parking spot or garage before you fall for a bigger car. A Safety Standards Certificate is needed in Ontario to register a used car you buy.

Bridging the gap

Selling privately can take time; a rental means no rush. You can switch to a different car at the end of a booking, which helps if you are comparing. Weekly and monthly rates make a rental a sensible bridge between cars.
