Buying a car in Herbert

CarmaCars does not sell cars. We rent them, which makes us a good place to try a model before you buy. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card. We are not a lender and do not arrange loans. A monthly rental can bridge the time while you arrange one with your bank.

Try it for a week first

If we have the model in our fleet, its page shows the rates; if not, a similar car gives you a feel for the class. Take the car home, load it with your things, park it where you park, and then decide. A week of your own driving tells you more than twenty minutes with a salesperson: the commute, the parking, the fuel.

Before you sign

Ask whether the car has been in an accident and how it was repaired. Look for rust under the doors and around the wheel arches. Check open recalls with Transport Canada or the maker, using the VIN. Make sure every warning light goes out after the car starts.

Bridging the gap

A monthly rental keeps life moving while your financing is sorted out elsewhere. Rent by the week while you compare, and stop the day your next car arrives. Weekly and monthly rates make a rental a sensible bridge between cars.
