Buying a car in Hetch Hetchy Junction

There is nothing for sale here as a rule: CarmaCars rents cars. Here is how that helps when you shop. We are not a lender and do not arrange loans. A monthly rental can bridge the time while you arrange one with your bank. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out.

Why rent first

Testing the car for a week shows how it handles your parking, your passengers and your bags. Renting first means you buy knowing the car, not guessing. Try the car on a highway drive, a grocery run and a tight parking spot before you sign.

Before you sign

Compare the total cost, not only the monthly payment: interest, fees and insurance add up. Check the tires and brakes: replacing them adds to the real price. For a used car, ask for the vehicle's service records and look up its recall history by the VIN. Ask for a test drive on the highway as well as in town.

Before your next car arrives

A rental means you never have to rush a purchase because you need wheels. Between selling and buying, a weekly rental keeps the commute normal. If the purchase falls through, you still have a car to drive.
