Buying a car in Irwin

We are a rental company, not a dealer or a lender, and this page explains how renting can help a buyer. If credit is the obstacle, a monthly rental is one way to have a car while you sort it out; renting is not a loan, so there is no credit check. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out.

Try it for a week first

A week of your own driving tells you more than twenty minutes with a salesperson: the commute, the parking, the fuel. A week of normal life with the car is the best test drive there is. Many buyers rent the car they are considering for a weekend before they visit a dealer.

A buyer's checklist

For a used car, ask for the vehicle's service records and look up its recall history by the VIN. Ask how many owners the car has had and how it was used. Ask for a test drive on the highway as well as in town. Make sure every warning light goes out after the car starts.

Between cars

A rental can carry you through the paperwork of a private sale. Rent by the week while you compare, and stop the day your next car arrives. Need a car for a road trip before you buy? Rent one for the trip.

CarmaCars and Irwin

Everything CarmaCars does starts from Toronto, and we have no presence in Irwin. At about 383 km from our location in Toronto, Irwin is past the 250 km our delivery covers.

If you move to the Toronto area, renting the car you want to buy is easy. Our rentals start and end around Toronto; a test week has to begin there. If you want to check something for Irwin, send a request; a person replies honestly. Every rate on this site is in Canadian dollars.
