Buying a car in Leemon

Here is the honest answer for buyers: CarmaCars rents cars and does not sell them. If credit is the obstacle, a monthly rental is one way to have a car while you sort it out; renting is not a loan, so there is no credit check. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out.

Why rent first

A rental shows you the small things: the seat after an hour, the blind spots, the trunk with your stroller in it. If you are torn between two models, rent one, then the other. Try the car on a highway drive, a grocery run and a tight parking spot before you sign.

Questions to ask

Ask how many owners the car has had and how it was used. Check the tires and brakes: replacing them adds to the real price. Find out whether the car has open recalls before you agree on a price. Look at real fuel use for the model, not only the advertised figure.

Between cars

Selling privately can take time; a rental means no rush. A rental means you never have to rush a purchase because you need wheels. Sold your car already? Rent by the week while you shop for the next one.
