Car Financing: what CarmaCars does
People searching for car financing sometimes find us. We are a rental company, and here is how that helps. If credit is the obstacle, a monthly rental is one way to have a car while you sort it out; renting is not a loan, so there is no credit check. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out.
Why rent first
Try the car on a highway drive, a grocery run and a tight parking spot before you sign. Renting first means you buy knowing the car, not guessing. If we have the model in our fleet, its page shows the rates; if not, a similar car gives you a feel for the class.
A buyer's checklist
Look for rust under the doors and around the wheel arches. A Safety Standards Certificate is needed in Ontario to register a used car you buy. Make sure every warning light goes out after the car starts. Look at real fuel use for the model, not only the advertised figure.
A car meanwhile
A rental can carry you through the paperwork of a private sale. Sold your car already? Rent by the week while you shop for the next one. Selling privately can take time; a rental means no rush.
