Buying a car in Mayfield
CarmaCars does not sell cars. We rent them, which makes us a good place to try a model before you buy. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card. We are not a lender and do not arrange loans. A monthly rental can bridge the time while you arrange one with your bank.
Drive it like you own it
Many buyers rent the car they are considering for a weekend before they visit a dealer. If you are torn between two models, rent one, then the other. Try the car with the people who will ride in it most.
What to check before you buy
Check the date on the tires and the condition of the brakes. For a used car, ask for the vehicle's service records and look up its recall history by the VIN. Compare the total cost, not only the monthly payment: interest, fees and insurance add up. Look at real fuel use for the model, not only the advertised figure.
A car meanwhile
Selling privately can take time; a rental means no rush. Need a car for a road trip before you buy? Rent one for the trip. Need a car while a dealer prepares yours? Rent one by the week.
