Shopping for a car in McGrath

CarmaCars does not sell cars, but before you buy one in McGrath, a short rental can answer questions a test drive cannot. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out.

Drive it like you own it

A rental shows you the small things: the seat after an hour, the blind spots, the trunk with your stroller in it. Renting the model you are thinking of buying, for a day or a week, is a real test drive on your own roads. A week of normal life with the car is the best test drive there is.

What to check before you buy

Ask whether the car has been in an accident and how it was repaired. Have a mechanic inspect a used car before you buy it, at a shop you choose. Compare the total cost, not only the monthly payment: interest, fees and insurance add up. Check the date on the tires and the condition of the brakes.

While you shop

Between selling and buying, a weekly rental keeps the commute normal. There is no long contract, so a rental fits around any purchase date. If the purchase falls through, you still have a car to drive.
