Buying a car in Millican

Looking to buy? CarmaCars rents cars instead, which makes a test week easy. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card. If credit is the obstacle, a monthly rental is one way to have a car while you sort it out; renting is not a loan, so there is no credit check.

Try it for a week first

Bring the car seat, the hockey bag or the dog, and see if it all fits. Many buyers rent the car they are considering for a weekend before they visit a dealer. Try the car on a highway drive, a grocery run and a tight parking spot before you sign.

Checks worth doing

Find out whether the car has open recalls before you agree on a price. A Safety Standards Certificate is needed in Ontario to register a used car you buy. Compare the total cost, not only the monthly payment: interest, fees and insurance add up. Check open recalls with Transport Canada or the maker, using the VIN.

Between cars

Use a rental to try a different kind of car before you commit to one. A rental keeps you driving if your old car sells sooner than planned. Sold your car already? Rent by the week while you shop for the next one.
