Buying a car in Nelson
CarmaCars does not sell cars. We rent them, which makes us a good place to try a model before you buy. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out.
Why rent first
Try the car with the people who will ride in it most. Many buyers rent the car they are considering for a weekend before they visit a dealer. A week of your own driving tells you more than twenty minutes with a salesperson: the commute, the parking, the fuel.
Buying smart in Ontario
A Safety Standards Certificate is needed in Ontario to register a used car you buy. Read the contract before you sign, and ask about every fee you do not understand. Check the tires and brakes: replacing them adds to the real price. Drive the car on the roads you use every day, at the times you usually drive.
While you shop
Need a car for a road trip before you buy? Rent one for the trip. Sold your car already? Rent by the week while you shop for the next one. A rental keeps you driving if your old car sells sooner than planned.
