A monthly rental can bridge the time while you arrange one with your bank. If credit is the obstacle, a monthly rental is one way to have a car while you sort it out; renting is not a loan, so there is no credit check.

What to check before you buy
Ask how many owners the car has had and how it was used. Ask for a test drive on the highway as well as in town. Drive the car on the roads you use every day, at the times you usually drive. Check the date on the tires and the condition of the brakes.
