Car Financing: what CarmaCars does
CarmaCars is a rental company, so we do not sell cars; renting one first is how we help buyers. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card.
Why rent first
Take the car home, load it with your things, park it where you park, and then decide. Try the car with the people who will ride in it most. Rent for a weekend to answer the big question: is this the right car?
Checks worth doing
Check open recalls with Transport Canada or the maker, using the VIN. A Safety Standards Certificate is needed in Ontario to register a used car you buy. Drive the car on the roads you use every day, at the times you usually drive. Compare the total cost, not only the monthly payment: interest, fees and insurance add up.
While you shop
Waiting for a car on order? A monthly rental covers the wait, up to 365 days a booking. A rental means you never have to rush a purchase because you need wheels. If the car you want is weeks away, rent one month at a time and stop when it arrives.
