Car Financing in Poughkeepsie, NY

Before you buy in Poughkeepsie

Here is the honest answer for buyers: CarmaCars rents cars and does not sell them. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card. If credit is the obstacle, a monthly rental is one way to have a car while you sort it out; renting is not a loan, so there is no credit check.

A test drive that lasts

A week of your own driving tells you more than twenty minutes with a salesperson: the commute, the parking, the fuel. A few days with the car answers whether the seats, the space and the fuel use suit you. Testing the car for a week shows how it handles your parking, your passengers and your bags.

Checks worth doing

A Safety Standards Certificate is needed in Ontario to register a used car you buy. Drive the car on the roads you use every day, at the times you usually drive. In Ontario, a private seller must give the buyer a Used Vehicle Information Package. Look for rust under the doors and around the wheel arches.

A car meanwhile

A rental can carry you through the paperwork of a private sale. Between selling and buying, a weekly rental keeps the commute normal. You can switch to a different car at the end of a booking, which helps if you are comparing.
