Buying a car in Preston

We are a rental company, not a dealer or a lender, and this page explains how renting can help a buyer. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out. We are not a lender and do not arrange loans. A monthly rental can bridge the time while you arrange one with your bank.

Drive it like you own it

Renting first means you buy knowing the car, not guessing. Try the car on a highway drive, a grocery run and a tight parking spot before you sign. Bring the car seat, the hockey bag or the dog, and see if it all fits.

What to check before you buy

A Safety Standards Certificate is needed in Ontario to register a used car you buy. Look at real fuel use for the model, not only the advertised figure. Have a mechanic inspect a used car before you buy it, at a shop you choose. Check open recalls with Transport Canada or the maker, using the VIN.

A car meanwhile

Rent by the week while you compare, and stop the day your next car arrives. If the car you want is weeks away, rent one month at a time and stop when it arrives. There is no long contract, so a rental fits around any purchase date.

CarmaCars and Preston

There is no CarmaCars location in Preston; everything we do starts in Toronto. The distance is about 1,954 km in a straight line, more than our delivery area of 80 km.

If you are in the Toronto area before you shop, rent the model from us there. Our rentals start and end around Toronto; a test week has to begin there. Unsure? Send a request about Preston, and we answer plainly. Our prices are in Canadian dollars, with tax added in the offer.
