Buying a car in Shields

CarmaCars is a rental company. We do not sell, finance or lease cars, but we can help you try one before you do. If credit is the obstacle, a monthly rental is one way to have a car while you sort it out; renting is not a loan, so there is no credit check. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out.

Why rent first

A few days with the car answers whether the seats, the space and the fuel use suit you. Renting the model first is a simple way to avoid buying the wrong car. Try the car on a highway drive, a grocery run and a tight parking spot before you sign.

Questions to ask

In Ontario, a private seller must give the buyer a Used Vehicle Information Package. Ask whether the car has been in an accident and how it was repaired. Look for rust under the doors and around the wheel arches. Check open recalls with Transport Canada or the maker, using the VIN.

Bridging the gap

You can switch to a different car at the end of a booking, which helps if you are comparing. Weekly and monthly rates make a rental a sensible bridge between cars. If the purchase falls through, you still have a car to drive.
