Shopping for a car in Stella

Looking to buy? CarmaCars rents cars instead, which makes a test week easy. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card. If credit is the obstacle, a monthly rental is one way to have a car while you sort it out; renting is not a loan, so there is no credit check.

Try it for a week first

Rent the model, take it on the roads you know, and decide with confidence. A week of your own driving tells you more than twenty minutes with a salesperson: the commute, the parking, the fuel. Try the car with the people who will ride in it most.

What to check before you buy

Have a mechanic inspect a used car before you buy it, at a shop you choose. Drive the car on the roads you use every day, at the times you usually drive. Check the date on the tires and the condition of the brakes. Ask whether the car has been in an accident and how it was repaired.

A car meanwhile

Selling privately can take time; a rental means no rush. There is no long contract, so a rental fits around any purchase date. Between selling and buying, a weekly rental keeps the commute normal.
