Buying a car in Applegate

Here is the honest answer for buyers: CarmaCars rents cars and does not sell them. We are happy to point you in the right direction, and to rent you a similar car to try. Tell us the car you are looking for and we will help where we can, and you can rent a similar car first.

Why rent first

Renting first means you buy knowing the car, not guessing. A rental shows you the small things: the seat after an hour, the blind spots, the trunk with your stroller in it. A rental lets you judge fuel use for yourself, on your own routes.

Questions to ask

Read the contract before you sign, and ask about every fee you do not understand. A Safety Standards Certificate is needed in Ontario to register a used car you buy. Look for rust under the doors and around the wheel arches. Ask whether the car has been in an accident and how it was repaired.

Before your next car arrives

If the car you want is weeks away, rent one month at a time and stop when it arrives. Sold your car already? Rent by the week while you shop for the next one. A rental keeps you driving if your old car sells sooner than planned.

About distance

Everything CarmaCars does starts from Toronto, and we have no presence in Applegate. About 3,476 km separate central Toronto and Applegate, far past our 80 km delivery area.

Our rentals start and end around Toronto; a test week has to begin there. Shopping in Applegate? A rental from Toronto only makes sense if your trip starts here. We would rather tell you no than overpromise, so ask about Applegate if you like. Prices here are in Canadian dollars, not US dollars.
