Shopping for a car in Bowstring

There is nothing for sale here as a rule: CarmaCars rents cars. Here is how that helps when you shop. Shop for the car anywhere you like, and rent the same model from us first if we have it. Tell us the car you are looking for and we will help where we can, and you can rent a similar car first.

Drive it like you own it

Renting the model first is a simple way to avoid buying the wrong car. Testing the car for a week shows how it handles your parking, your passengers and your bags. A rental shows you the small things: the seat after an hour, the blind spots, the trunk with your stroller in it.

A buyer's checklist

Look for rust under the doors and around the wheel arches. A Safety Standards Certificate is needed in Ontario to register a used car you buy. Compare the total cost, not only the monthly payment: interest, fees and insurance add up. Check the date on the tires and the condition of the brakes.

Before your next car arrives

Use a rental to try a different kind of car before you commit to one. Renting while you shop lets you compare cars without pressure. If the car you want is weeks away, rent one month at a time and stop when it arrives.

Renting from Toronto

You will not find a CarmaCars location in Bowstring; we work from Toronto. By straight line Bowstring is about 1,200 km from central Toronto; by road it is farther, and beyond our 80 km delivery area.

For buying in Bowstring, local dealers and private sellers are where to look. If you are in the Toronto area before you shop, rent the model from us there. If you still want to ask about Bowstring, send a request; we would rather say no than overpromise. Our prices are in Canadian dollars, with tax added in the offer.

Next step

Ask about renting first, and buy with a clear head.
