Before you buy in Downs

CarmaCars does not sell cars. We rent them, which makes us a good place to try a model before you buy. Tell us the car you are looking for and we will help where we can, and you can rent a similar car first. A rental of the same model for a week shows how it fits your commute, your parking and your family.

Try it for a week first

A few days with the car answers whether the seats, the space and the fuel use suit you. Rent for a weekend to answer the big question: is this the right car? Try the car on a highway drive, a grocery run and a tight parking spot before you sign.

Checks worth doing

Look at real fuel use for the model, not only the advertised figure. Drive the car on the roads you use every day, at the times you usually drive. Ask whether the car has been in an accident and how it was repaired. A Safety Standards Certificate is needed in Ontario to register a used car you buy.

Bridging the gap

You can switch to a different car at the end of a booking, which helps if you are comparing. Weekly and monthly rates make a rental a sensible bridge between cars. Waiting for a car on order? A monthly rental covers the wait, up to 365 days a booking.
