Before you sign

A Safety Standards Certificate is needed in Ontario to register a used car you buy. Ask how many owners the car has had and how it was used. Read the contract before you sign, and ask about every fee you do not understand. Find out whether the car has open recalls before you agree on a price.

Before your next car arrives

You can switch to a different car at the end of a booking, which helps if you are comparing. If the car you want is weeks away, rent one month at a time and stop when it arrives. Use a rental to try a different kind of car before you commit to one.
