The Lexus RZ: before you buy
We rent cars and sell one only now and then. There is no Lexus RZ for sale by us right now. Before you buy the Lexus RZ, here is what the figures say and what to look at.
Recalls and complaints
Check whether every recall was done, by the VIN, before you pay. Ask the seller for the service records of this exact car. A pre-purchase inspection at a shop you choose is money well spent. Look at the tires, brakes and battery; they are costly to replace.
Specs, explained
No fuel-use rating is published for this model year, so we leave those figures out.
What the RZ is like
Its SUV body gives a high seating position and an easy load height.
Who the RZ suits
It suits a stretch of weeks between selling one car and buying the next. It suits a work trip where a reliable car matters more than anything else.
A longer test drive
Try the RZ on your commute, then decide. A test week in the RZ tells you more than any review. If it is in our fleet, rent it; if not, a similar car gives you a feel for the class.
Running costs
Get an insurance quote for this exact model before you buy; rates differ a lot between models. Ask what a set of tires costs for this trim; sizes and prices vary.
Choosing the right one
The years table on this page shows where the RZ changed. Decide what matters most first: fuel use, space, or the price you can pay. Set a budget that includes tax, licensing, insurance and the first set of tires.
Ready when you are

Rent it for a week before you buy
A week of your own driving tells you more than a test drive: the commute, the parking, the fuel. Rent a Lexus RZ from us first.
Find me this car
Tell us your budget and when you want to buy; we look for a Lexus RZ for you and reply within one business day.
Buying the Lexus RZ
Does CarmaCars sell the Lexus RZ?
Not right now. CarmaCars rents cars; it sells one only now and then. Tell us what you want and we look for one, or rent one for a week first.
Can I rent a Lexus RZ before I buy one?
Yes. Request it for a week (or longer, up to 365 days) and drive it as your own; nothing is charged until we confirm and you approve.
Where do the figures come from?
Fuel use and fuel cost from the US EPA (fueleconomy.gov), dimensions and weight from NHTSA vPIC Canadian specifications, recalls and complaints from NHTSA. We leave out any figure no free source publishes.
