A buyer's checks
NHTSA has 29 owner complaints on file, mostly about power train, unknown or other and service brakes. Have a mechanic inspect a used one before you buy it. Ask the seller for the service records of this exact car. Look at the tires, brakes and battery; they are costly to replace.
Engine and fuel
The EPA does not rate this model year for fuel use; heavier trucks and vans are often not rated.
Space and size
It is a straightforward car to drive, park and live with.
Best uses
It suits a stretch of weeks between selling one car and buying the next. It suits someone whose own car is in the shop for a while.
Rent it for a week first
A test week in the Versa Note tells you more than any review. Rent first, buy later: a week with the Versa Note answers the big questions. Rent the Versa Note for a week and see how it fits your life.
The cost of driving it
Ask what a set of tires costs for this trim; sizes and prices vary. Get an insurance quote for this exact model before you buy; rates differ a lot between models.
Year and trim
Set a budget that includes tax, licensing, insurance and the first set of tires. Look at a few listings of the same year and trim to get a feel for fair prices. If you are unsure between two options, rent one of them for a week first.
Ask us
Send a request to rent the model first, or ask us what we can do.
Rent it for a week before you buy
