Trade In in Ames

Shopping for a car in Ames? CarmaCars is not a dealer, a lender or a leasing company. We rent cars. Between cars? Rent one by the week or the month while you decide what to do with yours. Selling a car can take weeks; a weekly rental means you do not have to keep it until it sells.

Drive it like you own it

Bring the car seat, the hockey bag or the dog, and see if it all fits. Testing the car for a week shows how it handles your parking, your passengers and your bags. A rental lets you judge fuel use for yourself, on your own routes.

What to check before you buy

A Safety Standards Certificate is needed in Ontario to register a used car you buy. For a used car, ask for the vehicle's service records and look up its recall history by the VIN. Check open recalls with Transport Canada or the maker, using the VIN. Look for rust under the doors and around the wheel arches.

Bridging the gap

Rent by the week while you compare, and stop the day your next car arrives. Sold your car already? Rent by the week while you shop for the next one. Rent the kind of car you plan to buy while you shop for it.

Our area

There is no CarmaCars location in Ames; everything we do starts in Toronto. We do not deliver as far as Ames, about 1,575 km from central Toronto.

Our rentals start and end around Toronto; a test week has to begin there. If you are in the Toronto area before you shop, rent the model from us there. Tell us what you are planning in Ames, and we will say what we can and cannot do. Every price here is in Canadian dollars.
