Trade In: what CarmaCars does

CarmaCars does not sell cars, but before you buy one in Border, a short rental can answer questions a test drive cannot. Between cars? Rent one by the week or the month while you decide what to do with yours. Selling a car can take weeks; a weekly rental means you do not have to keep it until it sells.

Rent it before you buy it

If we have the model in our fleet, its page shows the rates; if not, a similar car gives you a feel for the class. Many buyers rent the car they are considering for a weekend before they visit a dealer. Bring the car seat, the hockey bag or the dog, and see if it all fits.

What to check before you buy

Find out whether the car has open recalls before you agree on a price. Check open recalls with Transport Canada or the maker, using the VIN. Check the date on the tires and the condition of the brakes. Measure your parking spot or garage before you fall for a bigger car.

Between cars

If the purchase falls through, you still have a car to drive. Waiting for a car on order? A monthly rental covers the wait, up to 365 days a booking. There is no long contract: each booking runs up to 365 days and can be renewed.

A note on distance
