Trade In: what CarmaCars does

We are a rental company, not a dealer or a lender, and this page explains how renting can help a buyer. We do not buy cars or take trade-ins. If you would rather keep your car and have it earn, our owner program rents it out for you. Between cars? Rent one by the week or the month while you decide what to do with yours.

Try it for a week first

Renting the model you are thinking of buying, for a day or a week, is a real test drive on your own roads. Take the car home, load it with your things, park it where you park, and then decide. Rent for a weekend to answer the big question: is this the right car?

A buyer's checklist

Look at real fuel use for the model, not only the advertised figure. Ask how many owners the car has had and how it was used. For a used car, ask for the vehicle's service records and look up its recall history by the VIN. In Ontario, a private seller must give the buyer a Used Vehicle Information Package.

Between cars

There is no long contract: each booking runs up to 365 days and can be renewed. Rent the kind of car you plan to buy while you shop for it. There is no long contract, so a rental fits around any purchase date.
