Trade In: what CarmaCars does

CarmaCars is a rental company, so we do not sell cars; renting one first is how we help buyers. We do not buy cars or take trade-ins. If you would rather keep your car and have it earn, our owner program rents it out for you. Selling a car can take weeks; a weekly rental means you do not have to keep it until it sells.

Drive it like you own it

A few days with the car answers whether the seats, the space and the fuel use suit you. Many buyers rent the car they are considering for a weekend before they visit a dealer. Renting the model you are thinking of buying, for a day or a week, is a real test drive on your own roads.

What to check before you buy

Ask your insurer for a quote on the exact model before you commit. Ask whether the car has been in an accident and how it was repaired. Look for rust under the doors and around the wheel arches. Check open recalls with Transport Canada or the maker, using the VIN.

Between cars

Rent by the week while you compare, and stop the day your next car arrives. Selling privately can take time; a rental means no rush. Need a car while a dealer prepares yours? Rent one by the week.

A note on distance

To be clear: CarmaCars rents cars in the Toronto area, not in Fields. About 941 km in a straight line separate Fields from central Toronto; our delivery stops at about 80 km.

If you are in the Toronto area before you shop, rent the model from us there. Our rentals start and end around Toronto; a test week has to begin there. A request about Fields gets an honest answer from a person. Prices are in Canadian dollars, and the offer shows the tax.
